One evening while sitting on our sailboat in the Townsite Marina. Nanaimo we witnessed a spectacular sunset, giving new meaning to the old saying “Red Skies at night, Sailor’s delight”.
 
It is a special time of the evening, when the sun is just sinking under the horizon and it will be soon dark and if a boater, time to turn in for the night. It is the calm before the morning winds whip the sails into full bloom for new adventures. Like so many husbands, sailing was my husband’s favourite pastime. I would have loved to have shared this painting with him. He’s out there sailing somewhere.
