This sentinel tree standing guard for centuries has been tested by all weather conditions and tides.  The artist first saw this tree in a booklet produced by Ucluelet photographer, Mary Christmas.  After some negotiations with Mary, it was agreed that Sandra could paint this inspiring scene as long as Mary retains the first of the limited addition prints.  Mary retains the card rights to the photograph. 
 
It appears to have an eagle nest on it, which some say is really a growth. Let’s have the viewer decide.
