This painting represents the beautiful Pacific Rim Park area of Schooner Cove, near the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations village of Esowista on Vancouver Island. It was a soft misty day, with sea gulls gathering on the beach seeming to enjoy the tidal symphony.
There are a total of 31 Gulls in the painting, and although stating she may never paint another sea gull again, they are a major element in several seascapes Sandra has since painted. They are so much a part of the natural setting it is unusual to look out at the Pacific Ocean without seeing them.
The original was sold through The Village Gallery in Sidney, B.C.
